WHAT IS YOGA?
Yoga was developed thousands of years ago as an ancient Indian practice that combines physical, mental & spiritual disciplines to achieve union between mind, body & spirit. It aims to promote overall well-being & self-realization. Yoga is a practice that connects the body, breath & mind by using physical postures, breathing exercises & meditative practices to improve overall health. Yoga is a versatile practice that can be adapted to different individuals and lifestyles. It is a holistic approach that brings harmony and a sense of balance to all aspects of one’s being.
At SHCW, we utilize Yoga as a gentle way to bring balance and connection between mind, body & spirit. We offer yoga in groups and can also incorporate gentle movements into counseling sessions to help release stress and tension from the mind / body. The more relaxed the body is - the more the body can heal.
